An amendment that would have prevented employers from asking for Facebook passwords was defeated Thursday.

Scott Bergman‘s insight:

This is something that should have passed easily with bipartisan support. There is no reason employers need access to anybodies password protected personal information on Facebook or any other social media network, unless your applying for a job that requires a security clearance or perhaps a law enforcement position.
